I've had many different hair styles and looks in the past. Now I have a dilemma! But first I'll show you the many looks of me.
During the early years, I have a wonderful mother to thank for these hair styles, some of them looked "cute".
The last picture is of the first and only perm that I had. My sister Kay, the cosmetologist, used the small rollers and this is what my hair came out like. Barely any curl, that's just how my hair is, doesn't take curl well.
This next hair style is the shortest I've ever cut it, back in 6th grade, and let me tell you it didn't work for me. This picture is after it grew out a lot. I don't have a picture of how short it was but you can see the drawing on the upper left corner, that's how my hair looked.
And when I say the cut didn't work I mean it. My friends told me, after it grew out, that it really didn't look good. But hey, give me credit for trying new, bold, & different things with my hair.
Next we have high school, where my Freshman year I high lighted my hair for the first time. During those four year it looked pretty much the same, with a few inches off here and there. The last picture, my senior picture, I added that for fun since many of you that didn't know me back then probably have not seen my hair like that. It was fun, I just hardly ever do it anymore!
These next two are just the way it looked most of the time, these are from my senior portraits.
Here we have during my college years where I went more and more blond.
Next is the way my hair looked when Sam and I started dating. Long and high lighted.
Then I had some fun and went brunet like I've always wanted to do. I just love brunets, I think they have a gorgeous color and their hair almost always looks fantastic.
But......... Sam hates this. He says he thinks I look like a completely different person. He didn't know what to think when he saw me with this new due.
So when he asked me to marry him, I figured it best I change my hair so that Sam liked looking at me on our wedding day. So I went with stripes!
That was pretty tough to get that dark out!
On our wedding day! I LOVE the way my hair looks from this view, so fun and different. Sam said he really liked this hair "colors".
Then after a little bit I went with all blond.
Then blond on top dark on bottom.
After a while of that I decided to try and get back to my natural color!
Sam loves the way I styled my hair in this picture, just a side note for later in the post.
The natural color lasted about a year or so before I got bored and did another extreme to what I have now.
Well so here's my dilemma. I really like this blond, I'm not bored of it yet but can not continue doing it because my hair is breaking. I think it has stopped but my hair is apparently tender hearted and isn't able to handle this extreme process, believe when I say extreme, it is, and it burns!
So now I'm faced with the question, what to do? I love the way my bangs look here.
Do I go back short, or continue to grow it out longer?
I saw this picture blog hopping, Ginger if you recognize this person you should, I found her link off of your site, hope she doesn't mind.
But I love the look, I can't tell if her hair is thin like mine which would be necessary if I want to get this look. I'm curious if I could still flip it out, like the picture of me in the pink polka dot shirt, above.
A friend suggested I try going red, which scares me a lot but here's an old photo where my hair looks a bit red. Try really hard to look past the really horrible photo.
Mostly I'm thinking I should give my hair color a break so it can gain some strength back. I could give my hair some low lights to try it make it more of my natural color but would love something fun. I just love doing fun spunky looks with my hair, it's just who I am I guess!
If you're still reading congrats, I know you must be sick of this post by now. So, what do you think?

You have always looked good in what ever style you have chosen. Some of my favoriate have been- long and highlighted- I thought your curly hair looked good on you-in your senior picure. I think I have liked them all- for different reasons- But I do think it would be better for you to do a style that is not so hard on your hair-
The hair style of that girl- I think would look good on you also- as for red- you probably would look nice- but my experience with red is that it fades so fast!
Having said all that- I think something close to your natural hair color with hightlights in the fun cut would give you a change that you are wanting-
But really I think you are one of those lucky girls that looks good no matter what :]

Wow Heidi I can't believe how much your hair has changed through the years! I am so boring compared to you haha!!!

It's been my experience to stay close to your natural hair color with a few hightlights for summer... then taking care of your hair won't be such work.. but must stay with a fun hair cut - your personality deems it! By the way check out my web site -by good friend is going through the same thing... change is always fun and refreshing to the soul... I am even ready for a change myself! that's what spring does to me - smile

Wow you have changed your hair a lot but its looked good in all of your changes. I have never been that brave. I permed my hair once and it was frizzy (& awful) for about one day then it was completely straight the next. I have never colored my hair before and the only hair cut I can find that looks good I'm bored with. Good luck with your hair. I like your natural color though. You just have to find a cute cut to keep you from getting bored.

lol -- I like the last line of your post. :)
*And to start off . . . that 1st photo of you -- I can see so much Carlee in you it is crazy!
*I don't think I've ever seen you as a brunette -- I like it!
*I like the *inspiration* photo you posted -- I think your hair could do that (especially considering how straight it is). And it does look like her hair is thin, or else a flat iron helped her get that way. I do like the bangs too. Maybe a shoulder or just above the shoulder-length cut would work well on you.
*You are a brave girl! Have fun playing!

oh, and I also really like the way you styled your hair in the pic of you by the fence. I've always thought that was really pretty. I think you do long hair really well. For a lot of people it just looks flat & limp.

Looking through all these pictures... boy are you are a babe! What about a muted red? Hmm... I might go a touch darker, then add red highlights? It's an idea. I love hair changes, so, so fun : )

I really loved the natural look, that is if you really can't stay a blond. You are so much more adventurous than me. I have never dyed my hair, and my haircuts are always very conservative (aka:boring).

Wow. You have had lot's of different hair styles. I think you should stick close to your natural color with a few subtle highlights. I like the picture you posted for an idea. Hair seems to look healthier when it is close to your natural color (at least that's what I have discovered). Good luck.

Sam is so good to go with all your changing hair, most guys don't like their wifes to do anything different. I like you as a brown, I think you look cute, and I like your highlights. I have seen a few girls with thin hair do the hair cut where its short in the back and longer in the front. Just go and have fun. And love your younger picture I can see Carlee in you, before I thought she took after Sam.

I love how adventurous you are with your hair! I love the curly and the stripes. They were my favorite. Being a brunette, I've always had a "thing" for blondes. I have always wanted to be able to mix in different colors, but my hair is too dark. I tend to stick with the same hairstyle. I do think that that girls has cute hair in the picture that you chose. But to give your hair a break, you may have to go back to your natural color (which is very nice) and just get a good cut.

OK I think definitely lowlights to start. You look amazing with dark hair. I personally LOVE dark hair.. but my hubby likes me blonde too. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your hair curly. I don't ever remember you doing your hair like that. I DO remember the short short one. ;) I did that a time or two. lol. YOu always look gorgeous no matter what Heidi.

What about going natural with hi lights. You looked great at your wedding.

That is a really fun trip through time & hair!! I don't think i could even find that many pictures of myself! You are good. I say go a little natural with low lights for awhile and let your hair recover and then go blonde again...you look great however you have your hair! Love ya

Wow. That was fun! I loved looking at all the pictures. I really like the curly hair. I also LOVE you platinum...but so hard on your hair. I also loved your hair at your wedding and that is probably more realistic and easy for you. I could understand why your hair would need a break. Take that from the girl that has never had a highlight, lowlight, dyed or any "unnatural coloring" done to her hair. I like to say it is natural and I also love my hair color and that it looks light some days, dark others, etc. Oh...and I love the haircut of that girl...It would look great on you. I also love red...redheads have more fun:) Love you and your blogs...you're amazing!
