I made this Easter tree! It's my version of Martha Stewart's tree. I used everything that I already had, found this vase but didn't have grass to put in there like she did, so I took some leaves from a plant I have in my backyard. They worked perfect since they are thick and tall to be able to completely block what the inside awkwardness of the vase looks like from the branches. I don't have pussy willow branches like she used so I went to my back yard again and cut off branches from our gigantic bush. I considered painting the branches white but Sam said he likes it like this. For the eggs I used these that were given to me from Sam's mom the first year Sam and I were married (I used different eggs, the kind used for Easter egg hunts, to put inside of the silver bucket that these were meant for). Then I just put some water at the bottom, to hopefully keep the leaves from turning brown, seems to be working so far my tree has been up for over a week. I've just been trying to do one craft per holiday to add up a little collection of decorations over the years, even though I can't keep these for next year, I at least have the idea of something I can do.

It really is very cute- and I can said that, because I saw it in person- Your home looked so Easter cute!

Oh, and one more thing- way to be creative- using things from your yard!

That's so cute. And that is a good plan, making one decoration for each holiday every year. It is kind of overwhelming when you want to have fun stuff to decorate but don't know where to start. That's how I feel about most things...I'll just have to work on it little by little.

I just noticed the flute on the counter. Do you play the flute? I don't think I knew that.

Very cute I love the idea. I have thought about getting a cute fake tree and for a table centerpiece and just doing different things to hang on it for every holiday season, the intention is there, but the time..haha! Thanks for all the comments you leave!

Oh I wanted to comment on the previous post about the LDS Prom. We had one in our ward a few weeks ago...the pictures didn't turn out that great though. Do you have a special camera or what? Your pictures always look so good. What a cute idea...and you have a lot of youth in your ward or is that a stake thing? Love ya!

Very cute! And looks super easy too! That's what I'm all about. Good idea to do one craft per holiday...I may steal it. :)

You are incredible! The ideas you have and the fact that you DO them. I'm jealous. I have an easter basket with candy in it:)

At least you remembered it was Easter. Somehow it slipped my mind....
Way cute tree; I should check Martha for ideas more often.

Heidi you are great. You certainly didn't get that from your mom. I can do it if someone tells me what to do or if I see a picture. But that is great. So proud of you.

Wow! Who would have thought you would grow up and be all domestic. I think it looks better than anything Martha could have come up with. You should send it to her to give her some ideas. :)
